About

A note on the collection and the man who made it.

Paul R. Rogers spent many years compiling the photographs and quotations gathered here. Each artwork pairs a single photograph with a quotation he found resonant — sometimes a poet's line, sometimes a scientist's observation, sometimes a passage of scripture. The pairings are his.

The collection grew gradually. Galleries were added as themes emerged: landscapes, scenes from the natural world, the Metropolitan, and a small set dedicated to children. Three hundred and ninety-four artworks across fourteen galleries remain.

There is always a way to do what needs to be done — provided that we have the wisdom, the courage, and the stamina to persevere.
