Arshile Gorky (Born Vostanik Manoug Adoian) — Armenian-American Painter and Childhood Survivor of the Armenian Genocide, whose work became a seminal influence on Abstract Expressionism as an outgrowth of his Existentialist Philosophy (1904 — 1948).
